About me

   Margaret C. Jasper is an attorney who has been engaged in the general practice of law since 1991, in South Salem, New York, with a primary focus on personal injury, medical malpractice and entertainment law. Margaret has been appointed to the Attorney for Children panel for the Family Court of the State of New York. Margaret is a licensed real estate broker operating as Jasper Real Estate. In addition, Margaret is the Vice-President/Legal Counsel of Gold City Records, Inc. and Jasper Stone Music, Inc. (ASCAP), New York based record and music publishing companies. 

   Margaret is a successful legal author and has written over 100 books covering a vast variety of legal topics! She is also the owner of Legal Easy Books, and the author of numerous publications. 

   Margaret has practiced at the highest level in New York, arguing and winning a landmark case, Broadnax v. Gonzalez, before the New York Court of Appeals in 2004, where she overturned a 26-year old New York precedent which previously prevented mothers of stillborn babies from recovering damages from their negligent medical providers. 

   Most recently, Margaret and her son Michael formed a law practice. Together, Michael, a bright, young, inspired counselor, and Margaret, an experienced, insightful, and dedicated attorney, aspire to help their clients find justice and get the relief they need.

Broadnax v. Gonzales, 2 N.Y.3d 148, 809 N.E.2d 645, 777 N.Y.S.2d 416 (2004)

New York Court of Appeals 

Broadnax v. Gonzales was a landmark case argued and won by Margaret in the New York Court of Appeals in April of 2004. Broadnax overturned a 26-year old New York case precedent, which prevented mothers of stillborn babies from recovering damages from their negligent medical providers. Now, as a result of the precedent set by the Broadnax case, mothers of stillborn babies due to medical negligence now have the right to bring legal action and recover emotional distress damages.

Margaret is a legal author of numerous publications and has written over 100 books covering a large variety of legal topics. Margaret is also the owner of Legal Easy Books, legal books written for individuals who want a straight to the point overview of a specific area of law. Each title explores one area of law and explains its basic principles in clear and concise language.
